In Ayurveda, Sama means balanced and assisting in the process of body and mind well-being, practicing yoga, pranayama (focusing on breath), and meditation for half an hour daily on an empty stomach or an hour or more after eating assist with increasing inner strength. As with any practices or techniques, especially beginners, avoid overexertion or strain of the body. Alternate the practice or technique by departure and simply take slow and calm, usual breaths until the body is ready to resume. Individuals with breathing or respiratory concerns should discuss activities, such as pranayama with their physician. Holding of breath isn't conducive with conditions of asthma or high blood pressure. With any experience of abnormal discomfort, do not persist or engage with practice.
